Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2: The most unusual mode is also the most successful!

game news Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2: The most unusual mode is also the most successful!

That’s a good thing, the new Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is available to everyone! Each player can now discover their own new maps, modes, and even play in third person. Yes, the famous FPS tries TPS. Something unrelated here? We are not sure…

Big news for Call of Duty 2022

Between the “Zombie” and “Infected” modes, Call of Duty has proven more than once that it doesn’t lack the ideas (and humor) to revamp its multiplayer. But for Modern Warfare 2, a remake that was released on October 28, 2022, there is something new that we weren’t really expecting. The popular motion program in FPS view can now be rendered in a file third person, similar to a mobile camera, as part of its online games. Important clarification: this is not an option that can be activated or deactivated at will! TPS (“third person shooter”) sessions are a separate mode in Modern Warfare 2 and are exclusively compatible with the rules of Team Deathmatch, Domination and Hardpoint. Since multiple updates are done quite often, it is believed that the third person will quickly invest in other fronts.

Setting TPS to FPS Yes, but why?

The first question is why! Why, in 2022, studio Infinity Ward (at the origin of Modern Warfare 2) is trying TPS on a series that has always been famous for its first-person point of view. Well guess what, we know the answer! Back in September, we spoke with Jeff Smith – the head of multiplayer design on the latest Call of Duty:

“As a developer, we always like to try things out (…) when you play a third-person game, it’s often easier to experience. You have more awareness of the situation, if you’re in the cover you can see the following… We’ve done a lot of Working in this aspect, and it gives us another tool to revamp the experience after launch and keep some freshness” – Jeff Smith, Director of Multiplayer Design (Infinity Ward)

Of course, after twenty years of Call of Duty games every year, you have to strain your mind to find new innovations… If you were wondering, Infinity Ward does not plan, at least for the time being, to give parties in TPS players | FPS will be mixed. “But it’s something we tested during production,” says Jeff Smith. “We tested it as a reward that the player can equip, likeOptional option – We even experienced first-person team-versus-third-person battles.” So it’s definitely, for sure, that this TPS mode hasn’t finished talking about it.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 – TPS Sight Deathmatch (Playstyle, PS5)

Really that strange idea?

For our part, we think this new approach to Call of Duty action is one of Modern Warfare 2’s best surprises. Simply because – since the September beta – there has been a change: the camera doesn’t necessarily tilt inward in the first person when it’s necessary to shoot. It all depends on the equipped zoom! If the latter is not strong enough, the action remains in plays at TPS; If that’s enough, like a sniper in particular, we’ll move on to the FPS view. In the lists, there is also an option to make the second case systematic.

It might seem like nothing like that was said, but it’s actually a great way to legitimize a situation he really needed. And it works! The sensations of this mode are just as pleasant as those of a standard camera. Above all, in the words of Jeff Smith, we have Regarding play areas drastic changes. The field of view – so dear to fans of Call of Duty – is actually much larger, as it is able to see beyond obstacles and blind spots. So the method of combat was changed, asking to play between the two pivots of the shoulder cam (by pressing L3) to monitor what is happening in the distance. It is familiar and different, as well as easy to access. In short, it’s a good idea.
