Introduction

The Wimbledon tennis updates are coming in as the famous tournament takes place in London. Wimbledon is the oldest and most prestigious tennis tournament in the world, played on grass courts at the All England Club. This year’s tournament runs from June 26 through July 9.

Men’s Singles

The men’s tournament has seen some major upsets so far. Defending champion Novak Djokovic was eliminated in the quarterfinals by young British player Jack Draper in an epic five-set thriller. Some other highlights in the men’s draw include:

Women’s Singles

In the women’s tournament, several top players have also been eliminated. The Williams sisters both lost early, while world #1 Iga Swiatek was upset in the fourth round. Key updates include:

• Defending champion Ash Barty retired since last year’s title
• Coco Gauff reached her first major semi-final before falling to Simona Halep
• Former champions Petra Kvitova and Garbiñe Muguruza were defeated in earlier rounds

The women’s final will feature Simona Halep taking on rising Spanish teenager Paula Badosa for the trophy.
